Overround is a pricing measure, not your expected loss or the bookmaker's guaranteed profit.

What the margin means

Add 100 ÷ decimal odds for every outcome, then subtract 100. The amount above 100% is the market's overround, commonly called its margin.

Compare complete markets with the same settlement rules. A lower overround does not mean every individual selection has a better price.

If the total is below 100%, check for missing outcomes, mismatched markets, stale prices or prices from different bookmakers. A negative result alone does not establish a usable arbitrage.
